Allison Brooks Janney is an American actress who was born the 19th of November, 1959. For the past 30 years Janney's performances have earned high praise both on the screen and on the stage. Janney is the recipient of many awards. The most notable are an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award as well as several others. In addition, she was awarded 7 Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, she was nominated to win the two Tony Awards. Janney was born in Boston, and raised within Dayton (Ohio). When she graduated at Kenyon College, she received an entire scholarship to The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Janney was first seen on television in 1999 playing C. J. Cregg as a character in the political drama NBC's The West Wing (1999 to the year 2006) which won her four Primetime Emmy Awards. Janney received the Primetime Emmy Award in 2014 for Outstanding Actresses in Drama Series. The actress won the award for her role as Margaret Scully in Showtime's drama Masters of Sex.
